The May Event 2011
Following the success of last year's celebrations for TWF's fifth year, we're holding another day event, at the Jacqueline Du Pré Building, St Hilda's College, Oxford on May 28th 2011.
As before, we're inviting friends and colleagues to share their insights and recommendations to help make sure that no one is missing out on all the wonderful reading currently on offer in our genre.
Guests this year will be Jon Courtenay Grimwood, Pat Cadigan, Mary Hoffman, Stan Nicholls, Anne Gay, Ben Jeapes, Mike Shevdon and Ian Watson.
The Write Fantastic contingent will be Sarah Ash, Juliet E Mckenna, Kari Sperring, Freda Warrington, Liz Williams and Ian Whates
We'll be discussing SF&F Awards as a good guide to good reading; The Short Story - trial run, test piece or something else entirely?; The rise of the paranormal in fantasy (no, not Twilight) and The Seven Ages of Mankind - how many do we see in SF&F?. The exact running order will depend on people's travel arrangements so check back for an update on that.
Tickets in advance cost £15 and £12 for students and other concessions*.
You can pay on the day, on the door, at a cost of £18 and £15 for students and other concessions*.
