Travel & Accommodation

St Hilda's College is in East Oxford, at the far end of Cowley Place, OX4 1DY. Click here for a map of the city centre showing St Hilda's towards the bottom right-hand corner. Do not be deceived into thinking it's miles out of the way. Carfax, the crossroads at the heart of the city is only around a fifteen minute walk.

Coming by Car
There is no public parking at the college. On-street parking locally is heavily restricted and car parks in Oxford are punitively expensive. Happily, there are five Park & Ride carparks serving the city. The most convenient for St Hilda's is the Thornhill Park & Ride, with a stop on St Clements, a few minutes walk from the college.
Other P&R buses will drop you in the city centre. From there, you can walk to the college or take a local bus. Oxford Bus Company services 4 4A, 4B and 4C all go via the Iffley Road, adjacent to Cowley Place.
Click here for a P&R map and further details.

Coming by Train
Oxford is half an hour by train from Reading and an hour from London Paddington and Birmingham New Street.
Click here for National Rail Enquiries.

Oxford Railway station is on the far side of the city centre from the college. It's about a half-hour walk. Taxis are available and the Oxford Bus Company No.5 service runs from right outside the station to stops on the Cowley Road every 5-10 minutes.

Coming by Coach
The Oxford Tube runs wifi-enabled coaches every 10 minutes from London, Victoria, with further stops en route and offering passengers various stops in Oxford. The most convenient for St Hilda's is St Clements, a short walk away.

The Oxford Bus Company offers the Oxford Espress service from London.

National Express Coaches arrive at Gloucester Green bus station in the centre of the city. That's a 20 minute walk to St Hilda's or local buses are available. Ask at Gloucester Green for the most convenient service to the Cowley Road.

Accommodation
Since our event is in term time, the college cannot offer any rooms for visitors. However Oxford has an extensive array of options. VisitOxford, the City Council's official visitor information website offers full details and an online booking service. You can also ring the Oxford Tourist Information Centre on 01865 252200 for further assistance.

The YHA Youth Hostel offers new, purpose-built accommodation right beside the railway station, with en-suite rooms available at very competitive prices.

Daily Info, the one-stop guide to life in Oxford, also offers comprehensive listings for hotels, guest-houses and B&Bs.
