Travel & AccommodationSt Hilda's College is in East Oxford, at the far end of Cowley Place, OX4 1DY. Click here for a map of the city centre showing St Hilda's towards the bottom right-hand corner. Do not be deceived into thinking it's miles out of the way. Carfax, the crossroads at the heart of the city is only around a fifteen minute walk. Coming by Car Coming by Train Oxford Railway station is on the far side of the city centre from the college. It's about a half-hour walk. Taxis are available and the Oxford Bus Company No.5 service runs from right outside the station to stops on the Cowley Road every 5-10 minutes. Coming by Coach The Oxford Bus Company offers the Oxford Espress service from London. National Express Coaches arrive at Gloucester Green bus station in the centre of the city. That's a 20 minute walk to St Hilda's or local buses are available. Ask at Gloucester Green for the most convenient service to the Cowley Road. Accommodation The YHA Youth Hostel offers new, purpose-built accommodation right beside the railway station, with en-suite rooms available at very competitive prices. Daily Info, the one-stop guide to life in Oxford, also offers comprehensive listings for hotels, guest-houses and B&Bs. |
