The Write Fantastic is an initiative by authors to introduce fantasy fiction to readers who have never tried the genre, and to show those who have drifted away the breadth and depth in current fantasy writing.

On June 18th 2008, Sarah Ash and Jessica Rydill will be appearing at the Bromley Literary Festival, from 6.30 to 8.00 pm. The event is free. Please book through the library.

On June 25th 2008, Sarah Ash, Chaz Brenchley and Juliet E McKenna will be at the Central Library, Kensington, from 6 to 8 pm, discussing Alternate Worlds. Again, contact the library for more details.

Our work covers the gamut of fantasy writing from orcs and dragons, through high heroic swords and sorcery to reimagining of myth and history, and the magics of matter, mind and spirit.

Contemporary fantasy fiction is about far more than escape to other realities. Freed of the constraints and preconceptions of other kinds of fiction, it holds up a mirror to reflect on this world and time through the prism of vivid characters and enthralling drama that engage the imagination like no other genre.

Between us, we can offer a range of resources to libraries, literary festivals, reader's circles, writers' groups and bookshop events. We can talk on our lives as writers, on fantasy and science fiction in general and on specific topics. We can also come together as panels for question and answer sessions, give readings and conduct workshops on creative writing, both in genre and in general.
